Department of Pathology, The Fourth Affiliated Hospital, Medical School of Zhejiang University, was established in 2014. presently it is the largest pathology department in the middle west area of Zhejiang province. There are 30 staffs worked in the department which including 15 pathologists and 12 technicians, as well as 3 technician assistants. From 2015 to 2018, Dr. Wang Lijun (The senior consulting pathologist from the first affiliated hospital of ZJU) was the first executive director. From June 2022, Dr. Li Baizhou ( The senior consulting pathologist from the second affiliated hospital of ZJU) is the executive director. Dr. Li has more than 25 years experience on anatomical pathology and his interests focused on the haematolymphoid tumors, breast tumors and lung cancers.
Department of pathology offers the routine anatomical pathology examinations, cytology, intro-operation frozen diagnosis, pathology consulting service and Tele-pathology. The tele-pathology hopefully give accurate and fast pathology service to the counties along the Belt and Road Routes. The department also launches immunohistochemisty and molecular tests for auxiliary diagnosis.
Except the clinical service, the department of pathology also undertakes the teaching work for the international medical students from the Zhejiang university belt and Road international school of medicine.
