The Fourth Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine is a directly affiliated hospital of Zhejiang University. It is a provincial-level comprehensive Grade A tertiary hospital and is the youngest A+ grade public hospital in the country. Crital Care Medicine, as one of the key disciplines at Zhejiang University Fourth Hospital, currently has 37 beds, with a total of 15 doctors (including 1 full professor, 2 associate professors, 9 attending physicians, and 3 resident physicians), 3 respiratory therapists, and over 90 nurses. This is a young and vibrant team.

The Crital Care Medicine Department at Zhejiang University Fourth Hospital is equipped with advanced monitoring and treatment equipment. It has reached a leading level in the treatment of severe head injuries, cerebrovascular diseases, sepsis, various types of shock, respiratory failure, and other critical conditions in China. The team has overall strong capabilities. It has been widely reported by the media and highly praised by society for successfully treating critically ill and challenging patients. Since its establishment, the department has not only played a crucial role in major public health incidents but also kept pace with technological developments, demonstrated a model role, excelled in scientific research, and established a safety barrier for critically ill patients in the central Zhejiang region. The discipline has undertaken 1 national-level project, 1 project at or above the provincial and ministerial level, 4 projects at the departmental level, and holds 1 invention patent and 9 utility model patents.

Its primary focus is on enhancing medical and nursing care standards, improving the efficiency of medical and nursing work, optimizing service processes, and elevating service quality.
