The Department of Neurology at the Fourth Affiliated Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine, integrates comprehensive medical service, teaching, and scientific research. It has a strong academic tradition and is experiencing rapid development due to the support from the Department of Neurology at the Second Hospital Affiliated to Zhejiang University School of Medicine, which is renowned as the leading neurology department in Zhejiang Province. With a robust technical team, we possess a neurology outpatient clinic, ward, neurophysiology examination room, and video electroencephalogram (EEG) monitoring ward. Our discipline is led by Professor Baorong Zhang from the Department of Neurology at The Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine. Director Guohua Zhao is the executive director. The team consists of 2 chief physicians, 1 professor, 3 researchers, 5 associate chief physicians, 6 attending physicians, 3 residents, and 1 postdoctoral fellow. All clinicians possess a master's degree or higher qualification, including 12 individuals with doctoral degrees and 9 professionals who have returned after studying abroad. The team consists of 5 doctoral supervisors and 2 master's supervisors, along with a recipient of the National Outstanding Youth Science Foundation, a Zhejiang Province Health High-level Innovative Talent, and talents recognized under the Yiwu 133 Innovative Talent Project at first, second, and third levels. The responsibility of our department encompasses the education and training of doctoral, master's, and undergraduate students from Zhejiang University, as well as the standardized residency training conducted at a national level. The Department is equipped with a renowned Doctor Clinic, a Special Needs Clinic, a Specialist Clinic, a Specialist General Clinic, and eight sub-specialty clinics catering to stroke, Parkinson's disease, epilepsy, cognitive disorders, neurogenetic disorders, botulinum toxin therapy, dizziness and headache management, and neuroimmunology. It also includes an intravenous thrombolysis and  mechanical thrombectomy team for ischemic stroke. The department specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of various neurological disorders, encompassing neurological genetic diseases, movement disorders, refractory epilepsy, cerebrovascular diseases, neuroimmune diseases, neuroinfectious diseases, as well as neurometabolic and nutritional disorders. The number of outpatient visits and hospital discharges has been consistently increasing at a rate exceeding 20% annually.
