The Neurosurgery Department of the Fourth Affiliation Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine integrates the development of medical treatment, teaching, and scientific research. It is one of the vital clinical departments of the hospital and the critical disciplines of Yiwu and Jinhua. After years of rapid development, it has become a leading department in central Zhejiang, with six subspecialties: functional neurosurgery, cerebrovascular disease, neuro tumor, neuro spine, craniocerebral trauma, and pediatric neurosurgery. Comprehensive treatment of trigeminal neuralgia, hemifacial spasm, and glossopharyngeal neuralgia, of which the therapeutic effect of microvascular decompression is at an advanced level in the country. It first carried out the contralateral C7 nerve root transfer anastomosis to treat upper limb paralysis and extracranial nerve carding to treat the sequelae of facial paralysis in Zhejiang Province, and the first to operate deep brain stimulation to treat Parkinson's disease in Jinhua. The clinical medical treatment ability was at the advanced level in Zhejiang province. It is a member unit of the China Cranial Nerve Disease Diagnosis and Treatment Cooperation Group, a director unit of China Nerve Regulation Alliance, a cooperative unit in the Zhejiang area for registration and research of Chinese adult moyamoya disease multicenter, a pan-Yangtze River Delta stereotactic neurosurgery alliance unit, and a director unit of Zhejiang Stroke Association. The discipline has 15 doctors with a 100% master's degree or above, including five chief physicians, four associate chief physicians, one doctoral advisor, and two master directors. Core members have an international, well-known medical center learning experience. The members are in charge of the national key research and development projects, the 863 projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Nature Fund, the provincial key natural projects, and so on.
