The Urology Department of the Fourth Affiliated Hospital Zhejiang University School of Medicine is one of the key clinical departments in the hospital with comprehensive development of medical treatment, education and scientific research. The department has an excellent talent structure with 1 Qiushi Distinguished physician of Zhejiang University, 2 doctoral supervisors, 3 master's supervisors, 7 senior physicians, and 3 postdoctoral fellows, and all the surgeons have master's degrees or above from famous universities in China.

The Urology Department upholds the two major concepts of "accurate diagnosis and treatment" and "maximizing the protection of organ function" to carry out clinical diagnosis and treatment, and has now established four major subspecialties of urolithiasis, urological tumor, urinary control, and andrology. With more than 60,000 outpatients and 4,000 inpatients annually, the department is trusted by patients from all over the world and its clinical medical capability is at the advanced level in Zhejiang province. The department has rich experience in dealing with difficult and complicated tumors in surgeries. Under the tacit cooperation of the multidisciplinary team, the department successfully completed many difficult surgeries including giant pheochromocytoma resection, minimally invasive surgery for bilateral pheochromocytoma and giant pelvic tumor resection, which fully demonstrates the strength of the affiliated hospital.

The Urology Department has strong scientific research capabilities and numerous achievements. Members of the department have won the third prize of Natural Science Award of Zhejiang province, taken charge of 7 National Natural Science Foundation of China projects and 6 provincial and ministerial-level projects, and published more than 50 papers in famous domestic and foreign journals. The department has recruited 4 doctoral students and 20 master's students from Zhejiang University. Through a series of academic activities, the department is deeply committed to training expert clinicians, clinical investigators, and medical educators who will go on to be future leaders in the field.
